Cheftimony Episode 060 - The Korean Vegan

Today I talk law and cooking, social media and advocacy, all with the multi-talented, unstoppable Joanne Molinaro, The Korean Vegan.

Joining me today is trial lawyer and food content creator, Joanne Molinaro. Known widely to the food community as The Korean Vegan, Joanne has practised big-firm commercial litigation for years. More recently, Joanne transitioned to a vegan diet, started The Korean Vegan as a side project… and here we are! Today, Joanne has leagues of followers, a fantastic new cookbook - and thanks to a change in her legal practice - more time to focus on delicious vegan food and so much more as The Korean Vegan.

Joanne and I dive into legal work and cooking (and how these two fields are more similar than you might think), and we discuss risk taking and just what “safety” should mean when choosing a career or life path. Joanne and I also discuss social media and what advocacy means for her outside the courtroom.

But fear not, we also talk food! Joanne walks me through a couple of great recipes from her new cookbook and shares two of her favourite restaurants in Chicago (Kale My Name and Spirit Elephant in Winnetka). You’ll also hear Joanne describe a lightning-fast recipe for braised tofu that is absolutely delicious (and quick! I’ve made it).

Step this way, Episode 060 awaits.
