Hi, I’m Graham MacLennan. I’m glad you’ve joined me here for Cheftimony.

The idea behind the podcast is pretty simple. I’ve spent most of the last 20 years in law offices and in restaurant kitchens, so the two groups I know are chefs and lawyers. I’ve worked in both roles over the years. While the chefs know the food best, the lawyers have lots to say on the topic. On Cheftimony, I talk to people from both groups.

I work as a lawyer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. About ten years ago, I started volunteering in restaurant kitchens to develop my cooking skills. From 2015 to 2017, I stepped completely away from the office world to travel and cook professionally. In Vancouver, I worked with the teams at Burdock & Co. and Harvest Community Foods. I also cooked aboard the schooner Passing Cloud in the Great Bear Rainforest and Haida Gwaii with the eco-tourism team at Outer Shores Expeditions. I’ve even been lucky enough to cook in my favourite city to visit, Las Vegas.

I returned to legal practice in 2017, and now I cook at home and as often as I can and with chef friends across Canada and in the US. Cheftimony is my way of sharing the stories of people who love food.
