A Snapshot of Sardinia

Tomatoes grow in front of the ancient house of Arimani, in Gallura.

Here is episode is the fourth and final snapshot from Italy in November 2023. The theme today is “down shifting”, and you’ll meet three people who have chosen to walk away from stress and to focus on health and happiness. And - for at least one of the three - on pasta!

Join me on Sardinia as fly into Cagliari and head immediately north to Bosa where you’ll hear about fantastic breakfasts and delicious pizza at Civico Uno. Then we’re off to Luogosanto for some “Airbnb cooking” in a beautiful stone tiny house, using ingredients from some wonderful and very tiny mini-markets.

Pasta making is next with our new friend Simonetta of the fantastic “pasta therapy” organization Arimani, which is “yesterday” in the local Gallurese dialect. You’ll hear why Simonetta left the practice of law in Milan behind to return to Sardinia to live a completely different life.

Finally, we will return to Cagliari where it all started. You’ll meet Alberto, a statistician turned tuk-tuk driver, I’ll describe the joy of finally eating the Sardinian pasta culurgiones at Sa Domu Sarda and I’ll wrap up the episode with thoughts on gelato and coffee. It’s all ahead in the last snapshot from Italy.
